Why HubSpot sites lose rankings and conversions

HubSpot CMS sites live inside a marketing stack, and that shows in the browser: the tracking script, chat widget, forms embed and often several additional pixels load on every page. Landing pages built from drag-and-drop modules can carry a dozen module-specific stylesheets and scripts, and the HubSpot forms embed alone renders with a noticeable delay on mobile.

The SEO gaps are mostly about templates and defaults. Blog listing and tag pages are indexable with thin content, landing pages created for campaigns are left live and indexable long after the campaign ends, page titles come from internal names, and canonicals on cloned pages still point at the original. Image modules often lack alt text because the field is optional in the editor.

WebVitalist crawls the live site, measures it on a mobile device, and gives you fixes phrased for the HubSpot page editor, Settings → Website, and the Design Manager.

Checks

What we check on HubSpot

On top of the standard technical, performance, accessibility and copy checks, the report looks for the problems specific to HubSpot.

  • 01 Tracking, chat, forms and pixel scripts on every page and their Total Blocking Time cost
  • 02 Landing page titles and descriptions left as internal names or empty
  • 03 Indexable campaign landing pages, thank-you pages and blog tag archives
  • 04 Canonical tags on cloned pages and language variants
  • 05 Module-level CSS and JavaScript loaded per page
  • 06 Image modules without alt text or explicit dimensions
  • 07 Forms embed rendering delay and its effect on LCP on conversion pages
  • 08 Structured data from blog templates (Article, BreadcrumbList) and gaps on service pages

Fix Pack · $149

How the Fix Pack works for HubSpot

Fixes name the HubSpot surface: the page editor’s Settings tab for titles, descriptions and canonicals, Settings → Website → Pages for site-wide head HTML and script loading, the Design Manager for module and template HubL changes, and Blog settings for tag archive indexing. HubL and HTML snippets are provided for templates and the head.

FAQ

HubSpot questions, answered.

Can you audit HubSpot landing pages and blog posts as well as website pages?

Yes. The crawler follows links to landing pages and blog posts and checks them alongside website pages, since they often share templates.

Do I need Design Manager access to apply fixes?

Most fixes are page settings or Settings → Website changes that a marketer can apply. Template-level fixes in HubL are marked as requiring Design Manager or developer access.

Will removing tracking scripts break HubSpot analytics?

The report never recommends removing HubSpot’s own tracking. It flags duplicated or unused third-party pixels and suggests loading non-essential scripts after the page is interactive.
