Why Wix sites lose rankings and conversions
Wix sites render through a large client-side framework, so mobile performance depends heavily on how many sections, apps and media elements each page carries. Large galleries, video backgrounds and app widgets (bookings, chat, stores) can push Total Blocking Time far past a second even on a simple page. The good news: Wix caches and compresses well, so trimming a page usually pays off immediately.
On SEO, Wix gives you every control you need in the SEO panel, but defaults are weak: page titles are the page name, descriptions are empty, and blog and store pages inherit patterns you may never have opened. Many sites also carry a stale redirect list or two URLs for the same page after a rename.

Can Wix performance actually be improved?
Yes, within limits. You cannot change the framework, but removing unused apps, replacing video backgrounds, compressing images and reducing sections on landing pages regularly moves the mobile score by 15–30 points.
Does the audit cover Wix Stores and Wix Blog pages?
Yes. The crawler follows links into store and blog pages, and the report checks their titles, descriptions and structured data alongside your static pages.
Do I need Velo or a developer to apply the fixes?
No. Nearly every fix is a setting in the Editor or the SEO dashboard. Where custom code is useful (for example JSON-LD), the snippet goes into Settings → Custom Code and needs no Velo.
